How we handle your information
Last updated: 2 October 2026
The short version
- The "Where Did My Profit Go?" calculator works out your result in your own browser and shows you a headline straight away. Nothing is sent to us until you enter your name and email to see the full result.
- When you do, your name, email and the figures you entered come to us, so that any conversation is tailored to your numbers.
- We never sell your information, and we only share it with the service providers that help us run our business.
- You can ask to see, correct or delete your information at any time.
1. Who we are
This policy applies to Tali Shani Pty Ltd trading as CFO Consultant (ABN 44 155 047 878), Victoria, Australia ("CFO Consultant", "we", "us"), and to this website, cfoconsultant.com.au, including our calculators and landing pages.
We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
2. What we collect
When you use the "Where Did My Profit Go?" calculator
- Your contact details: your name and business email address.
- About your business: your turnover range, and when your books were last reconciled.
- Your financial figures: net profit, loan and lease principal repaid, owner drawings and dividends, cash in the bank, tax, GST, PAYG and super due in the next 90 days, money owed to you by customers, and average monthly cash costs.
- Your result: the figures the calculator works out from what you entered, such as your cash cover and the gap between profit and cash.
- Whether your email is a business or free address (for example Gmail), which helps us prioritise follow-up.
- Where you came from: the advertising source, campaign and page address that brought you to the page.
Other information
- Details you give us when you book a call, send an enquiry, or correspond with us.
- Technical and usage information such as your IP address, browser type, device and the pages you visit, collected through cookies and similar technologies (see section 6).
Figures you enter about a business can be personal information when they relate to an identifiable individual, such as a sole trader or an owner whose drawings are shown. We treat all of it with the same care.
We do not ask for, and you should not enter, tax file numbers, bank account numbers, passwords or government identifiers.
3. How the calculator works with your figures
The calculation runs in your browser using a fixed formula, and a headline result is shown to you there. Your figures are not sent to us while you fill in the form or when that headline appears. They are only sent when you submit your name and email to see the full result. If you leave before then, we receive nothing.
The result is generated by that formula. We do not use it to make any automated decision about you, and it is indicative only. It is not financial, tax or legal advice.
4. Why we collect and use your information
- To provide your result and email you a copy.
- To prepare for, and run, a tailored conversation if you choose to book one.
- To respond to your enquiries and provide our services.
- To send you insights and updates about CFO Consultant, where you have agreed to receive them (see section 8).
- To measure and improve our website and advertising, including understanding which ads lead to enquiries.
- To meet our legal and professional obligations and protect our rights.
We will not use your information for a different purpose unless you would reasonably expect it, you have consented, or the law requires or authorises it.
5. Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with people and providers who help us run the business, and only as needed:

| HeyGen | Hosts and plays the introduction video from Mark. The video player loads from HeyGen when you open the page, so HeyGen may receive technical information such as your IP address and device details |

| Our professional advisers, and government or regulatory bodies where the law requires | Legal, accounting and compliance obligations |
If our business were sold or restructured, personal information may be transferred to the new owner on the same terms as this policy.
6. Cookies, the Meta Pixel and tracking
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to make the site work and to understand how it is used. Our advertising pages use the Meta Pixel, which records that a visit or a "Lead" event occurred so that we can measure how our ads perform and show our ads to relevant audiences.
The figures you enter in the calculator are not sent to Meta. The pixel only records that the form was completed.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and manage ad preferences in your Facebook or Instagram account under Ad Preferences. Blocking some cookies may affect how the site works.
7. Sending information overseas
Some of our providers, including Formspree, Google, Meta and HeyGen, store or process information outside Australia, including in the United States. Before disclosing your information overseas, we take reasonable steps to make sure the recipient handles it in a way that is consistent with the APPs. By submitting your information you understand that it may be handled by these providers overseas.
8. Email and direct marketing
When you ask to see your calculator result, we will email you a copy and may send you occasional insights from CFO Consultant. We only do this with your consent and in line with the Spam Act 2001 (Cth). Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can also ask us to stop at any time using the contact details below. We will act on your request promptly.
9. Keeping your information secure
We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. These include secure website connections (HTTPS), access controls on our systems and email, and choosing providers with appropriate security practices. No system is completely secure, so please take care with what you send us.
If a data breach is likely to result in serious harm to you, we will notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) as required by the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
10. How long we keep it
We keep your information only for as long as we need it for the purposes in section 4, or as the law requires. When we no longer need it, we take reasonable steps to securely destroy or de-identify it. You can ask us to delete your information at any time (see section 11).
11. Your rights: access, correction and deletion
You can ask us for access to the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate, out of date or incomplete, or ask us to delete it. We will respond within 30 days. In limited circumstances the law lets us refuse or limit access, and if we do, we will explain why in writing.
Contact us using the details in section 14. We may need to confirm your identity first, to protect your information.
12. Anonymity
You can browse our website and make general enquiries without giving your name. To receive your calculator result and book a conversation we need your name and email.
13. Complaints
If you are concerned about how we have handled your information, please contact us first so we can investigate and respond. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
